HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY

is a non-invasive, yet advanced method of treating various diseases and injuries based on breathing pure oxygen under increased pressure. The treatment in the hyperbaric chamber takes place under the supervision of our specialists – it is completely safe.

Oxygen therapy involves increasing the pressure in a special hyperbaric chamber, which results in better oxygenation of the body. Scientific studies prove that hyperbaric oxygen therapy leads to many positive physical, biochemical and physiological changes.

Pressure higher than atmospheric

makes oxygen penetrate tissues. It removes physiological barriers. Oxygen penetrates where it normally has no chance to go and reaches, for example, areas with poor blood supply. These may include areas after severe injuries, transplants, burns, soft tissue infections or wounds that are difficult to heal.

Oxygen in the hyperbaric chamber penetrates not only the patient’s red blood cells – its concentration is also increased in the lymphatic system, cerebrospinal fluid and plasma, thus giving the body benefits in a short time and without effort that cannot be achieved by any other therapy.

The treatment is painless, involving only the inhalation of therapeutic oxygen – each therapeutic session of several minutes in the hyperbaric chamber brings a feeling of relaxation. It also detoxifies the body by reducing toxins, effectively stimulates it to regenerate faster and neutralises any inflammation.

Interestingly, hyperbaric oxygen – as a natural and non-invasive method for the prevention of many civilisation-related diseases – also works well in the fight against addictions. Regular sessions in the hyperbaric chamber cause the body to spontaneously start rejecting all toxic substances, such as nicotine or drugs. Regular treatments therefore make our body regain not only its health, but also its natural beauty and condition.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy supports the rehabilitation process and is used, for example, in Alzheimer’s disease, after strokes, in Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis or traumatic brain injury. It gives positive results in the treatment of patients with cerebral palsy, improves the renewal of brain tissue, is an adjunctive therapy and speeds up the process of psychomotor re-education – mainly due to the oxygenation of nerve cells.
One of the most frequent indications for oxygen therapy in our Centre is cerebral palsy, the result of damage to the central nervous system, and one of the main causes of this condition is perinatal hypoxia (often the result of an incorrectly conducted birth). Oxygen administered during the procedure ‘revitalises’ dormant neurons, stimulates them and restores their function, while successively activating the entire nervous system. This makes it possible, in conditions of impaired mental development, to achieve significant improvements in motor disorders and speech development.
It is also indicated that oxygen therapy is also worthwhile in autism disorder.
